John drew his film “Honeydripper” from his short story, “Keeping Time”. He’s wanted to do it as a reading with drums for years, and we finally did. At the Coolidge Corner Theater February 2008.
(There are about 30 sec. of diminished sound near the top – the sound the rest is smooth) Good story – listen and enjoy!!!

A great life! Citing John Cage, he has a great quote:
“John Cage said that fear in life is the fear of change. If I may add to that: nothing can avoid changing. It’s the only thing you can count on. Because life doesn’t have any other possibility, everyone can be measured by his adaptability to change.”
Perhaps street protest is an outdated method in the age of mega-corporate information state power. I received this from The Yes Men and it is worth getting the word out. This may allow the press to fulfill their duty of reporting what is going on rather than woefully ignoring organized and significant protests. Information at this link.

Dear comrades
So today finally the judge decided to dismiss the ridiculous, stupid
and absurd case which was filled by Commonwealth of Massachusetts
against me for “selling nooses” in front of Bank of America. It ended
the growing absurdity of being a criminal defendant for several
month for just exercising my right to freedom of speech.
It is especially ridiculous since instead of prosecuting those bank
greedy criminals, for causing the suffering for millions of people
who are loosing their homes, the system was trying to punish me for
my critical commentary. I wanted to wake up people to the fact that
if we continue to support the economic system that causes this kind
of suffering for the people we are literally putting a noose around
all of our heads.
I grew up in a totalitarian system which misused the law to prosecute
dissidents for their critical expression. For the government to use
bogus charges to punish artists for their expression is a step toward
that kind of system.
Having performed in many countries around the world (include
totalitarian systems like China and Cuba) I have never experienced so
restrictive and police monitored environment for the street
Performance Art like the USA (I know now everybody is a “terrorist”
or “criminal”)
I would like to thank my lawyer Jeffrey Pyle for his excellent work
in the field of the First Amendment cases.
Long lIve freedom of speech- one of the last hopes we have in this
country.
